Brendan Shaw

Brendan is Principal and Founder of Shawview Consulting and is an Adjunct Professor in global health and the pharmaceutical industry in the Pharmacy School, Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. Since starting Shawview in 2017, Brendan and his team have worked with pharmaceutical companies, business groups, NGOs, governments and universities on global health policy issues. Brendan previously served as Assistant Director General of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) in Geneva, where he worked on global health issues on behalf of the global pharmaceutical industry. Prior to this he was Chief Executive and head of health policy at Medicines Australia, the association for the Australian innovative pharmaceutical industry. Brendan has also served as an IFPMA Council Member, a ministerial appointee to the Australian Government’s Pharmaceutical Benefits Pricing Authority and served on the Economic Subcommittee of Australia’s Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee. He has worked as an economist in government, politics, consulting and academia, and is an experienced chief executive and board member.  Brendan has an economics degree with honours from the University of Queensland and a PhD in management, business and economics from Monash University. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has completed the Senior Executive Program at the London Business School.
