David McKinney

David is Co-founder and Managing Director of ARMoR, the Alliance for Reducing Antimicrobial Resistance, a non-profit focused on improving the policy ecosystem for antimicrobial innovation and access. His work centres on desiging better funding models, incentives and coordination mechanisms to support antibiotic development while ensuring responsible global access. He works closely with policymakers, developers and international organisations across a range of issues, including pull incentives, procurement models, and strategies to strengthen the antimicrobial R&D ecosystem. ARMoR’s research includes investigating the health and economic value of new antibiotics and understanding how antimicrobial resistance impacts health systems more widely, including its implications for areas like cancer treatment, helping translate complex evidence into actionable policy decisions.

Prior to founding ARMoR, he spent five years at AstraZeneca as a project manager in the clinical supply chain. He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.
