Matthew Almond

Matthew joined the OHE in September 2026 as a Graduate Economist. Before joining, he completed a BSc in Economics and an MSc in Health Economics at the University of York. For his dissertation, he undertook a placement at the Centre for Health Economics where he examined the impacts of health insurance on labour market outcomes using causal machine learning evidence from Indonesia. He has previous experience at the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities as an analytical placement student and as an Associate in Audit, where he developed policy evaluation and data analysis skills.
