Haider Shamsi

Haider Shamsi is a clinical pharmacist, health economist, and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) specialist at the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining the Department of Health, he served as a Technical Lead at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in the United Kingdom, leading assessments of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, and innovative health technologies. His expertise spans HTA methodology, health economics, reimbursement, market access, pricing, real-world evidence, and healthcare policy. In addition to his professional role, he serves as a faculty member and speaker on HTA, health economics, and healthcare innovation, with a particular interest in the application of artificial intelligence to healthcare decision-making and the future evolution of HTA frameworks globally.
