OHE is seeking to recruit a well-qualified, highly motivated and energetic economist, with particular strengths in the economics of industrial organisation and regulation. The economist will contribute to research and consultancy activities.
OHE is seeking to recruit a well-qualified, highly motivated and energetic economist, with particular strengths in the economics of industrial organisation and regulation. The economist will contribute to research and consultancy activities.
The main purpose of the economist role is to undertake and present analyses of life sciences industry topics and related international and UK policies. The economist will also take part in a broad range of analyses into the economics and policy of: (1) health care systems; (2) pharmaceutical and other life sciences industries; and (3) health technology assessment. This will involve working with OHE colleagues, internal and external clients at all levels, and external stakeholders.
Candidates should have:
• a good first degree, majoring in economics;
• a postgraduate qualification in economics;
• thorough knowledge of the economics of industrial organisation, competition and regulation;
• strong mathematical skills;
• practical experience of research and/or consulting;
• interest in, and understanding of, policy related to the life sciences industry;
• demonstrable ability to research, write and present clearly argued analyses within tight deadlines.
