Professor Luigi Siciliani from the University of York will present an OHE Seminar on 16th September 2015 on the topic of waiting time policies in the health sector.
On Wednesday 16th September, Professor Luigi Siciliani of the University of York will lead an OHE Lunchtime Seminar on waiting time policies in the health sector.
The seminar will include a summary of key findings from a recent review of policies that aim to reduce waiting times in 13 OECD countries, including several “success” stories of policies that have obtained significant reductions in the last decade.
Prof Siciliani will also provide comparative evidence of waiting times across OECD countries and will show how UK waiting times have evolved in the last decade (compared to other countries).
Finally, Prof Siciliani will discuss the presence of inequalities in waiting times by socioeconomic status, even within publicly-funded health systems.
Luigi Siciliani is a Professor of Health Economics at the Department of Economics and Related Studies at the University of York. He has specialised in the economics of hospitals and has published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
