Matthias is a Principal Economist at OHE. His expertise and research interests include regulatory science and policy, the value of pharmaceuticals for patients and society, and the economics of pharmaceutical markets and innovation.
Before joining OHE, Matthias worked as a Research Associate in BioPharma Innovation at Imperial College Business School conducting research into the industrial organisation, manufacturing capabilities, productivity, and competitiveness of the UK pharmaceutical sectors. He has also worked at the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), where he was involved in the incentivisation, regulation, and appraisal of pharmaceutical innovation for rare diseases, children, and COVID-19.
Matthias holds an MSc in Biomedicine and Biotechnology from the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, a PhD in Clinical Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge, and an MSc in Health Policy from Imperial College London.
