Bernarda’s areas of expertise include econometric modelling of health statistics at patient level and also international health statistics at country level. Prior to joining OHE in 2015, Bernarda has worked in Spanish and British academia and international organisations. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University Carlos III of Madrid and a Certificate in Quantitative Finance from Fitch Learning.
Bernarda has completed research on Health Economics analysing the impact of provider diversity in the NHS on several aspects of quality measured from patient experience surveys and from hospital emergency admissions. Also, during her last position at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, Bernarda has worked on telehealth and telecare systems in Europe and on the monitoring of health projects involved in the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing.
