Katherine Payne

Katherine was awarded a personal chair in health economics at The University of Manchester in August 2010. Katherine’s interest in the economics of precision medicine and genomics technologies and services started when she worked as the health economist for the North West Genetics Knowledge Park (Nowgen) between 2003 and 2007. In September 2007, Katherine was awarded a five-year Research Councils UK Academic Fellowship in Health Economics to focus on the evaluation and valuation of genomic technologies including genomic-based diagnostics and pharmacogenetic tests. Katherine was a member of a NICE Technology Appraisal Committee between October 2003 and 2012.
