Victoria Serra-Sastre

Victoria holds a PhD in Health Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics, City, University of London, where she is the director of the City Health Economics Centre (CHEC) and programme Director of the MSc Health Economics and MSc Economic Evaluation in Healthcare. Victoria is also a Reader at the Department of Health Policy (LSE), where she contributes to a number of research projects.

Victoria’s main research area is on the adoption and diffusion of new medical technologies in the primary and secondary care sector in the English NHS. Her most recent work has focused on exploring the impact of medical technology on workforce composition by looking at changes in medical and non-medical skill-mix. Her research interests also cover other areas such as the impact of macroeconomic conditions on health and health behaviours, patient adaptation to health states and variation in the delayed discharge practices in NHS hospitals. She has collaborated with the OHE since 2013 in several research projects
