In this blog we (1) summarise the current status of the EQ-5D-5L value set for England; (2) highlight NICE’s recent statement on the values to be used in the reference case; (3) briefly explain why there are differences between the EQ-5D-3L and EQ-5D-5L; and (4) discuss why those differences might be important. We then (5) explain the next steps, including an independent quality assurance of the value set, and (6) provide an overview of current research projects underway at OHE to provide further evidence on the implications of new value sets for HTA and other uses.
A new paper, Assessing Value, Budget Impact, and Affordability in Asia, has been published in the International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care. This paper summarises the authors’ views on key thoughts and suggestions emerging from the 2016 HTAi Asia Policy Forum (HAPF) meeting.
The 2nd annual UK & Ireland PROMs research conference was held at St Anne’s College, Oxford on 8th June 2017. Several members of the OHE team attended and contributed to the conference. This post contains the team’s presentations.
Just published is a new book entitled “Multi-criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) to Support Healthcare Decisions”. It features a chapter by OHE’s Martina Garau and Professor Nancy Devlin on opportunities and challenges of MCDA in HTA.
