Economic thinking and analysis can contribute greatly to designing and evaluating health care policy and practice. There is a growing need to improve the efficiency and sustainability of health care systems everywhere. Finding fair and adequate sources of funding to meet the growing demand for health care, remains a major challenge.
OHE’s team has a wide range of economic skills, knowledge and experience. We combine health economics, industry economics and regulatory economics with long experience of contributing to policy debates and policy evaluation. We have worked on aspects of the funding of healthcare; the roles of public, private and charitable sectors; the impact of incentives; the interplay of market-like arrangements and health service institutions; the measurement of outcomes, performance and productivity.
