OHE Study - Public spending on medical research ‘boosts private investment’
Our recent report, "Forward together", commissioned by the Alzheimer’s Research Trust, the leading UK research charity for dementia, has found that government and charity spending on scientific research significantly complements, rather than crowds out, private sector spending.

OHE awarded funding to re-examine NICE's cost effectiveness threshold
OHE awarded funding to re-examine NICE's cost effectiveness threshold. Research is now underway to update and extend the binary choice model of NICE decision making, drawing on the data available in HTAinSite . The Principal Investigator is Nancy Devlin, and the research team includes Helen Dakin (Oxford University), David Parkin (City University), and Nigel Rice (University of York).

Scientific Plenary conference of the EuroQol Group in Paris
OHE Director of Research, Nancy Devlin, chaired the Scientific Plenary conference of the EuroQol Group in Paris. Together with Professor Jan van Busschbach (Erasmus MC), Nancy has acted as Scientific Chair of the EuroQol Group's annual conference for the last 5 years. The meeting is a key feature in the calendar for the EuroQol Group, and the main international forum for the discussion of papers reporting new methods for measuring and valuing health using the EQ-5D.

OHE awarded a EuroQol Foundation grant to conduct research to further develop and pilot test newTime Trade Off methods for valuing health. The Principal Investigator is Nancy Devlin, and the research team includes Aki Tsuchiya and Carl Tilling (Sheffield University); Ken Buckingham (University of Otago) and Koonal Shah and Grahame Wilkinson (OHE).

Grahame Wilkinson - OHE's Summer Internship
OHE is pleased to welcome Grahame Wilkinson on a summer internship. Grahame is completing his MSc from Cty University. Grahame is working with Professor Nancy Devlin to develop a computer-aided interview tool for Time Trade Off valuation. Grahames' research will involve using that in an explorative study of the valuation of the new five-level version of the EQ-5D (the EQ-5D-5L).
